ARTIST STATEMENT

I am interested in the feelings evoked past certain places, objects, and people. I am fascinated with specific variations of lite and shadow which requite me an intense feeling of beauty and can simply be found within the shapes of natural things. In this time of instant gratification and fast, bright images, I am compelled in the direction of works that are subtle, are best seen live, and require serenity contemplation to fully appreciate.

BIO

Gayle Madeira (b. 1969 Texas) is a contemporary creative person based in New York Metropolis. She studied fine art at Grand Central Academy, New York Academy of Fine art and The Art Students League, and holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase. Gayle's piece of work has been exhibited at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, MEAM Museum (Museu Europeu d'Art Modern), Sotheby's (NYC and LA), The National Arts Order, Salmagundi Club, Williamsburg Art and Historical Centre, 33 Contemporary, Principle Gallery, Abend Gallery, Foundation Gallery, and the New York Hall of Scientific discipline, amidst others. Her paintings accept appeared in International Artist magazine (2020, 2021), American Art Collector (2021), Art Connoisseur (2021), books, and films and take been finalists in ModPortrait (2022), Figurativas (2019), Art Renewal Center salons (2020, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2015), the Portrait Lodge of America (2020, 2019, 2018, 2016), and the Artist'south Magazine (2019, 2015, 2014, 2009).
